How it works

From the first message to a weekly lesson. Nobody asks for a card until you have seen a lesson and decided you want another one.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your child

Two taps on the form: the subject, and where your child is up to. Then your name and a WhatsApp number to reach you on.

    About a minute

  2. Step 2

    We reply on WhatsApp

A real person, not an automatic message. We agree a time for the trial lesson that fits around school — mornings, evenings and weekends are all available.

    Same day

  3. Step 3

    The free trial lesson

Your child meets the teacher and does some actual work, so you can both see how they get on. Sit in on it — most parents do, and nobody minds.

Free. No card, nothing to cancel

  4. Step 4

    What the teacher found

After the lesson we tell you where your child is actually up to and what we would start with. If we think your child does not need paid tutoring, we will say that too.

    No obligation either way

  5. Step 5

A weekly slot, and the same teacher

Pick the plan that suits, and your child keeps the same teacher each week so nobody starts again every lesson. Change the plan or stop whenever you need to.

    From $85 a month

  6. Step 6

    You hear how it went

After lessons the teacher tells you what your child covered and what they found hard, and you can ask for a parent-teacher conversation whenever you want one.

What a lesson is actually like

For the parent who has never watched one.

Nothing to install

Lessons run on Google Meet. You click the link at the agreed time — there is no app to set up and no account to create.

Live, never recorded

A real teacher, in real time, who can stop the moment your child looks lost. Recorded video cannot do that, which is why we do not use it.

Your child does the work

The teacher shares their screen and they work through it together — your child solving, explaining and being asked questions, rather than watching.

You can walk in

Join any lesson, whenever you like, without arranging it first. Female supervisors also monitor classes.

The practical details

Everything a parent asks before the first lesson, in one list.

Format
One-to-one, live. Never a group.
Lesson length
45 minutes.
How often
Two or three lessons a week, depending on the plan you pick.
Where

Mornings, evenings and weekends. We schedule around school, not the other way round.

We teach families in the UK, Ireland, the United States, Canada and Australia.
Missing a lesson
Tell us beforehand and we move it to another time that month.
Watching a lesson
Join any lesson, at any time, without arranging it first.
The same teacher
Yes, every week. If the match is wrong we change the teacher at no cost.
Stopping
No contract and no notice period. Tell us before the next month begins.

What you need at home

  • A laptop or tablet. A phone screen is too small to share work on
  • A reliable internet connection
  • Headphones, which help more than anything else on this list
  • Paper and a pencil — most of the thinking still happens on paper
  • A table, and a quiet half hour

That is the whole list. There is no textbook to buy and no software to set up.

Getting started — common questions

How do we get started?
Fill in the form on any page — subject, where your child is up to, and your WhatsApp number — and we reply the same day to agree a time for the free trial lesson. There is nothing to pay and no card to enter.
Is the trial lesson really free?
Yes. It is a full lesson with a teacher, not a sales call, and nothing is charged for it. You decide afterwards whether to carry on.
What software do we need?
None. Lessons run on Google Meet in the browser — you click the link at the agreed time. A laptop or tablet, headphones, and paper and a pencil are all your child needs.
Can I choose the lesson times?
Yes. Mornings, evenings and weekends are all available, and we schedule around school rather than the other way round. Tell us the times that work and we will match a teacher to them.
Can I sit in on my child's lessons?
Yes, at any time and without telling us first. Most parents watch the first lesson or two and then step back. Female supervisors also monitor classes.
Will my child have the same teacher every time?
Yes. The same teacher stays with your child, so nobody spends the first ten minutes of each lesson working out what was covered last time.
What if my child does not get on with the teacher?
Tell us and we will change them. Personality fit matters more at this age than any qualification, and a child who dreads the lesson will not learn in it.
How will I know whether it is working?
You get regular feedback and progress reports, and you can ask for a parent-teacher conversation whenever you want one. You can also simply watch a lesson.
